The challenge: The “Veridu Social Identity” portfolio highlights my collaboration with the social identity verification service startup, Veridu. The challenge was to build a proof of concept demonstrating how Veridu could be used for payments.
The solution: In less than two weeks, I developed an e-commerce store that incorporated Veridu’s identity verification service into the payments flow.
The solution involved creating an e-commerce platform where users could purchase online products. During the payment process, the merchant would verify the user’s identity using Veridu’s services. Unlike a simple authentication or decline process, the additional verification provided by Veridu allowed transactions to be approved with a higher acceptance rate, reducing declines in a non-risky manner. This approach enhanced the merchant’s payment acceptance rate and improved the overall customer experience.
To ensure a realistic user flow, I integrated the actual Veridu API into the demo. Once the proof of concept was successfully validated, I handed it over to the fraud team, who transformed it into a marketable product. Worldpay subsequently incorporated this product into their offering, enabling them to provide enhanced identity verification services to their customers.
