The challenge: The challenge presented to Future Foundry was to assist a charity in raising additional unrestricted revenue by creating a set of idea spaces and testing their popularity and feasibility with the general public.
The solution: To address this challenge, I embarked on a comprehensive research process to gather valuable insights.
The initial phase involved dedicating several days to thoroughly researching the charity, analysing start-ups operating in the same space, and studying the successful strategies implemented by other charities and marketing agencies. This extensive research provided a solid foundation for generating the first set of ideas.
Building upon this research, I participated in a workshop that my team facilitated, with experts from the charity to further refine and enhance the ideas. Their invaluable insights, combined with the initial research findings, led to a collaborative brainstorming session that generated a wealth of innovative concepts.
Working closely with the rest of the team, we embarked on an iterative process to curate and refine the idea spaces. This involved incorporating external research, statistical data, and market insights to ensure the viability and appeal of each idea. Furthermore, we performed external testing, seeking feedback from the target audience to validate and improve upon the initial concepts.
Throughout the process, we placed emphasis on iteration, constantly refining and evolving the idea spaces to maximize their impact. By leveraging both internal and external expertise, we aimed to create a collection of ideas that not only had the potential to generate revenue but also aligned with the charity’s mission and resonated with the general public.
The end result was a curated set of innovative idea spaces that had undergone rigorous scrutiny and testing. These ideas were strategically designed to drive revenue generation while maintaining a strong focus on the charity’s core values and objectives. The carefully crafted idea spaces served as a roadmap for future initiatives, empowering the charity to navigate its innovation journey with confidence and clarity.
Through thorough research, collaboration, iteration, and external testing, we were able to deliver a comprehensive ideation process that generated impactful ideas for raising unrestricted revenue. This project showcased the power of innovation and strategic thinking in the non-profit sector, providing the charity with a solid foundation for future growth and success.
