Strikethrough on Mac/Pages seems to be missing.
Something that I’d come to take for granted on Word and Google Docs, a simple CMD-SHIFT-S, alas seemed to be missing from Mac and Pages.
Yes, you can do it through the interface, but a shortcut is sweet.
The solution
So, something I thought was not possible, I tried to solve the other day, and I found a solution.
- Under System Settings, then go to “Keyboard” and press the “Keyboard shortcuts” button.
- Under keyboard shortcuts go to “App Shortcuts”
- Click + to add a shortcut
- Choose the application “pages”, the menu item name “Strikethrough” and command you want to attach it to e.g. CMD-SHIFT-S
Then save / done / etc, and go back to Pages, and voila, highlight the text you want to strikethrough.
Do CMD-SHIFT-S and it will strikethrough, yeh, and do it again to un-strike-it-through.
And so I’m very chuffed with myself. Good luck.
