On TikTok @kevingordon.art (https://www.tiktok.com/@kevingordon.art) I have a profile dedicated to my art work. I enjoy posting as I usually get between 200 to 2,000 views, and I’m starting to pick up quite a lot of engagement! But I only had about 90 followers, and I really want to do TikTok lives. So I formulated a cunning plan, or at least I thought I’d dip my toe into promoting posts on TikTok, here’s what I found out……
My cunning plan
So, I did finally succumb to TikTok’s constant bombarding me to promote my post(s). I had some coins I had bought, from sending GG’s to TikTok Lives, as you do. So I could promote my post for about £3.68 and it wasn’t going to cost me anything additional, so I thought let’s do it!
TikTok gives you the option of going for more engagement / likes or followers, and my goal is to get to 1K followers so I can do TikTok Lives. So I went for the “more followers” option. My post started at about 500 views. It took a while to get traction, and I was then getting views, but not engagement, it eventually got to 1.5K views, and actually likes started coming through, and I gained some followers. Yeh.
I was pleased to gain some followers.
And some simple maths completed, it worked about about 40pence per follower. Which I thought wasn’t bad.
But to get the other 900 followers I need in order to do a TikTok Live? Well that would be about £360 ! So I’m not doing that, lol.
Overall
So it was interesting to run a Promote ‘campaign’, it worked quite well, got me about 10 new followers, and I was pleased. Would I do it again? No idea. It’s probably a waste of money, but I do want 1K followers though! Oh and please also check out my art website.
