B. Ideas for use

  1. Google search results: copy the links from the search results into notepad, then paste them into the Website Playlist and click go, you can then browse through each of the websites in turn
  2. Finding the lowest insurance quote (whether it be travel, home or car insurance, etc) Compile a list of insurance websites, paste into the website playlist and click go, you can then browse each one in turn and find the cheapest quote. If you don't like one of the websites, delete it from the playlist and then when you've finished going through the list click go leaving you with a shortlist of the best ones.
  3. Work website task list. If you are like me you may view a load of websites on a daily basis. Now if you compile a list in notepad and paste into Website Playlist you can go through e.g your timesheet, personal email, corporate email, news.bbc.co.uk, your corporate news website, a industry news website, a technical training website (do a section a day!) and then a chapter of an electronic book (technical training of course!). Or any other website that you might use.
  4. Compile a list of favourites such as news websites, blogs, funny story websites, etc and go through each one in turn.

D. Can I use the code on my website?

YES! You can have a copy of the code free of charge, it is open source. It is written in html and javascript - nice and simple. If you use the code please can you leave the original source details with my name and contact details attached. Also please can you provide me with a credit or advertising on your website? Prehaps you could give me a small paypal donation also?

If you'd like to change the code and make it better - let me know so I can see what you've done. If you'd like me to make a change to the Website Playlist code to put on your website, let me know, I would like a small donation for this work - or prehaps some advertising or credit on your website - this is negogiable.

E. Browser Compatibility and bug reporting

I've tested in Internet Explorer 5, Opera and Firefox, if you find it doesn't work then let me know and I will put a fix in to make it work. If you code a fix let me know, I will deploy it on the Website Playlist website, and I will give a credit to you on the update history (I can also put a link to your homepage).

Look at the source code, I used code provided by www.javascriptkit.com (new window) and www.mozilla.org (new window) to enable the javascript to be compatible with the Firefox browser.
