Being in New York, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to pop in the Apple Store in Grand Central station. It’s quite an impressive store. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the visit as I went there looking for several things. Basically because I couldn’t\u00a0buy any of the things I intended to buy.<\/p>\n

What was I looking for at the Apple Store<\/h3>\n

\"Blue<\/p>\n

Firstly the Apple Watch, I want a strap in light blue. I know they don’t do it anymore, but I thought I’d inquire to see if they had any older stock left. Nope, no dice, though I found out they are due for a refresh in colours pretty soon, which is cool.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The Smart Cover \/ keyboard for my iPad Pro 12 inch in something other than dull black. Unfortunately nope, that’s the only colour they do it in. Next, I\u00a0asked if I could get a replacement for the one I have. Due to\u00a0the\u00a0letters that are\u00a0fading or have come off. What did they tell me; I was told unless I took out Apple Care no I couldn’t.\u00a0This is something to do when back in the UK. I have discovered that it does come in white, just now when looking on-line, so I’m not a bit p’d off. Here is where you can buy it online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

I asked for a\u00a0citrix mouse, I wasn’t holding my breath, but I thought they could possibly have one. Nope, they didn’t know what I was talking about.\u00a0They just pointed me to the two mice that they do, that was a shame.<\/p>\n

A SD Card reader dongle for my MacBook Pro Touchbar would be nice.\u00a0Again no dice, this\u00a0connector has been taken away. Apple has not\u00a0even provided a dongle to enable you to plug in your SD Card!\u00a0Why not use a camera to plug in the SD card in they said!<\/p>\n

Dongle-gate moan<\/h3>\n

I thought, well they don’t have anything that I can buy, so I’ll have a moan about dongle-gate. So\u00a0that’s what I did. Probably shouldn’t have given the Apple Store guy I spoke to a hard time, but why not. It sucks. You pay huge amounts for a new piece of kit. Then you have to shell out even more to enable it to actually work or\u00a0connect to anything. Shocking Apple design.<\/p>\n
