A great note taking tool - Evernote [ 28th February 2010, 11:36:57 ]
Choosing the Note - iPhone Writing a note - iPhone List of notes - iPhone

I recently came across a fantastic note taking solution called Evernote.

It can save text, audio, photos/images, and on a computer, screen shots as well.

What makes it so good is that you can get a version for all your internet enabled devices, and there's a browser based interface too, and all your notes are held in the cloud - and synchronise with the cloud.

So I can make notes on my iPhone and access them at home on my Mac or from work on my PC. And creating notes on those systems can then be accessed from my iPhone. It really works brilliantly.

Only things to bare in mind is that you can't edit rich text notes on the iPhone, though it still lets you append. Also, I'd forgotten my password, so asked for a password reset. But then this made the iPhone app crash, because it now had invalid login info. To resolve this, I deleted the app and reinstalled it.

Another plus is that the app is free, and so is the service!

There's a create note right from the top bar in Mac OS which allows you to create notes immediately. It also allows you to easily take screen grabs, either full screen, or part of.

I've just discovered a plug-in for Safari and Firefox too!

Highly recommended.

Once you've logged in there is a download section, where you can get an app for loads of platforms.

It location tags the notes also, so you could use it as a travel journal!
