Mrs. Susanette Loraine Parrish - Pre-school Manager

Qualifications
Playgroup Leadership Course 1979
Foundation Course 1980/81

Mrs. Parrish started her child care in 1970/73 as a nanny for two American Doctors whilst living in Belgium. On her return to England she became involved in playgroups, now known as Pre-schools, with her own two children. Her first child attended Shoebury Health Centre playgroup during 1978/80. Here Mrs. Parrish became relief Supervisor.

After completing her Playgroup Leadership course at evening classes she became a committee member at Sandpiper Playgroup. It was during this period she was asked by Social Services to become the Playgroup Supervisor. She then attended South East Essex College of Arts and Technology to gain her Foundation Course certificate. Her youngest child has SEN (Special Edcation Needs) which has given her invaluable experience in this area. Mrs. Parrish has been the pre-school supervisor since 1980.

Mrs. Margaret Rosemary Gordon - Pre-school Assistant

Qualifications
Pre-school Child Course 1987
Foundation Course 1988/89

Mrs Gordon gained child care experience when she became a registered child minder in 1985. She was a dinner lady at Friars Infants School during 1986. Her own two children went to Sandpiper Playgroup. She was asked to take the position of Pre-school Assistant in 1987 and has worked in this position since. Since 2003 she has been the SEN (Special Edcation Needs) co-ordinator for Sandpiper Pre-school.

Mrs. Linda Frances Barratt - Pre-school Assistant

Mrs Barratt gained child care experience when she became a registered child minder in 1979. She has served on the committee and worked in Southend hospital children's special needs toy library. She also became a helper on the children's special needs ward.

Mrs Barratt became involved in pre-school when her children attended in 1980 and subsequently when her grandchildren started to attend she became pre-school assistant in 2004. She is committed in gaining the relevant early years qualification as early as possible.

Mr. Lee Darren Parrish - Pre-school Voluntary Helper

Mr Parrish attended St Christopher's School for children with SEN. He was placed at our Pre-school from South East College of Arts and Technology on work experience. After leaving college in 1996 he became a pre-school helper.

All staff participate in on-going up to date training courses.
All our staff hold current pre-school First Aid certificates.
All members of our staff are required to be registered with Social Services and have police and medical clearance.

Children and parents address our staff by their Christian names only, as we feel this establishes a more personal relationship.

Keyworker

We operate a keyworker system. Parents and children will be told the name of the keyworker at the beginning of their involvement at pre-school. Full details of the keyworker system can be found on the pre-school notice board.

Parent Reading Helpers

The parent helper rota is posted on the notice board.
