Policies
Copies of the following policies can be found in the pre-school library:
Admission Policy
Before your child reaches the age at which you would like them to attend pre-school, you can enter their name on the waiting list by completing a registration form. We arrange the waiting list in order of Date of Birth so that this does not exclude for example:
- First time parents who are not aware of the system
- Childminders, who may not have detailed information about specific children in advance
- Parents who have recently moved into the area
- Children whose need is urgent
We are registered with Social Services for 20 children per session. As we only admit 18 children on the current register, this enables us to have 2 'spare' places each morning for urgent admissions.

Discipline Policy
We encourage a high standard of behaviour in each child. Politeness of speech and consideration for others is emphasised at all times. Discipline is maintained by staff in a firm but fair manner.

Equal Opportunities Policy
Our pre-school believes that no child, individual or family should be excluded from pre-school activities on the grounds of age, gender, sexuality, class, family status, means, disability, colour, ethnic origin, culture, religion or belief.
We aim to ensure that all who wish to work in or volunteer to help with our pre-school, have an opportunity to do so.

Health and Medication
All medical conditions MUST be entered on pre-school admission forms. This will enable staff/parents to complete individual medical guidelines before entering pre-school.
If your child should require medication whilst attending pre-school, parents will be asked to complete a medical form before staff will administer any medication.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Some children may need extra individual help. Your child will be encouraged to participate fully in all our pre-school activities, to stimulate their individual needs as outlined in our SEN policy.

Library
Situated in the hallway is our library and each child will be issued with a library ticket. They are allowed to take books home to encourage the joy of books. When books are returned, children are given back their library ticket enabling them to choose further books.
